Seeing the increasing popularity of Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered Generative Pre Training Transformer (GPT) Chat technology, users in India are also getting attracted towards it. The app developers who brought GPT chat app are getting uncountable downloads. According to the data of Sensor Tower and App Annie (now data.ai) their ranking also proves this point.
The industry estimates that the GPT based Chat App has been downloaded around 10 lakh times from app stores across the country. GPT is neural machine learning, which can generate and type content using information on the Internet. Last week, Google and Microsoft announced the inclusion of it in their search engine, which has created a buzz in the world.
But there is also growing concern about how many of the GPT apps on the app stores are genuine. It is also bound to arise the question whether those apps really have an engine with GPT technology or not. When app store companies have started giving subscriptions for a fee (starting at Rs 499), then such questions will arise.
Vietnam’s popular chatbot app Open Chat arrived in December 2022, according to Sensor Tower. It has become very popular in India within a few months. In terms of downloads on Google Play, it was ranked 28th on February 2 in the Productivity App Tools category, but made a tremendous jump to eighth position on February 14th.
Chat God was also introduced worldwide in December. In terms of downloads, its ranking is also showing a lot of jump. It was ranked 225th on Google Play’s productivity list on 22nd February and jumped to 34th on 14th February.
It is not that its popularity is limited to Android phones in India. Data from Sensor Tower shows that AI Chatbot also jumped from 130th on February 2 to 29th on February 14 in the productivity list on the App Store.
Interestingly, in January and February this year, a number of new apps have been released in this space and they are vying for the attention of customers. This month Rapid Chat GPT has come. Its ranking on App Annie’s productivity list was 341 on February 8, rising to 132 just six days later.
PT’s creator, OpenAI, says that ChatGPT can admit its mistakes in addition to answering questions. Can guess what will be the next question he is asked? It can also reject those requests, which it does not consider correct. It is being said that it will challenge Google. ChatGPT is a type of Chatbot, which you can use to chat. It works just like Google Assistant. However, it is slightly different from that.
What is the difference between ChatGPT and Google?
There is not much difference between ChatGPT and Google. ChatGPT is a chatbot and on the other hand Google is a search engine. The work of both is to answer the questions of the people. However, Google does not answer the question by itself, but gives it from the website of its index. Google ranks the website without giving a direct answer.
Answers in text format
Google shows the ranked website to the users and it depends on which website it has to get information from and from which it does not. Whereas, ChatGPT answers automatically. At present there is no information about what is the data source of ChatGPT? Apart from this, because ChatGPT is a chatbot, it does not rank the website, rather it answers itself in text format.
Can give wrong answers
Some researchers believe that there is a problem with understanding the context and essence of ChatGPT. Because of this it can sometimes provide wrong information. It is difficult to say anything about how correctly it will answer any question. In such a situation, it can be risky for you to blindly trust the answers given by ChatGPT.
Testing done in the ‘Theory of Mind’ task
To find out the capabilities of ChatGPT, Professor Michelle Kosinski of Stanford University has done a psychological test. Professor Michelle Kosinski used ChatGPT to test different versions of the chatbot to complete a ‘theory of mind’ task. Actually this test is done to find out the mental capacity of any child. Through this test, it can be ascertained how any child will behave in any situation. Basically, these tests help evaluate a child’s ability to understand the mental state of another person and use it to interpret his or her behavior.
ChatGPT has the brain of a 9-year-old child
This experiment was conducted in November 2022, and used a version of ChatGPT trained on GPT3.5. The chatbot solved 94% (17 out of 20) of the Kosinski Theory of Mind task. Kosinksee then placed the chatbot in the same league as the average nine-year-old. According to Kosinksee, the potential of ChatGPT may increase as language skills improve.
What is Theory of Mind Testing?
Talking about Theory of Mind Testing, it is used to understand the behavior of people. The most difficult phase of this test is to understand the ‘false beliefs’ of any person. The fourth step of this test is to know about the person that that person may have some false beliefs, which would be beyond the truth.
Is it insulting Hindu religion?
According to media reports, when questioned about Hinduism, it gives derogatory answers. ChatGPT based on artificial intelligence is not only about religion but also pokes fun at Hindu Gods and Goddesses such as Ram, Lakshman, Sita and texts like Ramayan. When asked about mocking other religions such as Islam or Christianity, ChatGPT apologizes saying that it hurts religious sentiments.
