DFRAC Exclusive: Fake handles from Pakistan posting sensual content and deceiving Twitteratis

There are many users on Twitter who frequently change their usernames. The reason is different for different users. The posts by these accounts are majorly set on an agenda in an attempt to channel the reader’s mind. In this DFRAC exclusive report, we will analyze the tactics of these accounts running by the name of females to gain followers.

These accounts majorly post sensual content and tempting messages to attract followers. In this report, we have covered some of the Pakistani accounts that were previously running by the name of a female user but now have changed the name to male.

1. Muhammad Kashif (ID: 1491292635268628481) Followers – 2,03,900

The old username of this account was @DuraniMaria. Then, his account changed its user name to @Political_78. This account has again changed its name to @kashifMeoPak1. This account is having around 205.8K followers.

New Username: @kashifMeoPak1

2. Dai Ali Daniyal (ID: 1515838504974045192) Followers – 1,30,200

Old Username of this ID was @Mahira_khan_1. Then it’s changed it’s username to @ImranRIiazKhan8 and then again the account changed it’s user name to @DaiADaniyal. The account currently have 159.6K followers. The account describe itself in the bio as Deputy Information Secretary Insaf Youth Wing •CEO: Al Ashraf Group Of Companies •Youth Mentor, Youth Leader •Young C.E.O striving to create an impact. Most of the post of this account is related to Former Pakisatani PM Imran Khan.

New Username: @DaiADaniyal.

3. Ashraf Jabbar Qureshi (ID: 1505409208052862981) Followers – 1,13,600

Ashraf Jabbar Qureshi describe himself in his Twitter bio as Ex Deputy Sec General PTI Sindh, Ex-President Karachi @tikarachi and Founding Member of PTI. Further, he wrote in his bio about 26 Years of struggle for Naya Pakistan with @ImrankhanPTI. The old username of this account was also of a girl  @MAHM619. The account currently has 117.1 K followers.

4. Kashif Baloch (ID: 1294256451507163136) Followers – 69,600

Old Username: @Muskan4885 . The current username of the account is  @KashifBalloch. The account describe itself in it’s bio as Social Media Activities / Believe in Love. Currently, having  69.5K followers the account mostly posted about political things.

New Username: @KashifBalloch

5. Syed Tahir Mehmood (ID: 1483841239808192515) Followers – 63,900

Old Username: @masoom__tweets. And, the current username is @SyedTahirLive. In it’s Bio, the account wrote that I am Syed Tahir Mehmood, Certifed business consultant. No post yet only one retweet

New Username: @SyedTahirLive

6. Sardar Abid (ID: 1472129125745840128) Followers – 58,300

The old username of this account is @fatimanoor122 and the current username is  @SardarAbidppp. In the bio this account wrote, Proud Pakistani | True Bhuttoist| Supporter Of #BBZ #PPP. The account currently have 58K followers.

New Username: @SardarAbidppp

7. Ch Ghulam Zamurrad (ID 1521523442943733760) Followers – 40,500

The old Username of the account is @dr_sobiakhan. And, the current username is @ChGhulamAhmed. This  account describe itself as President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Jhelum in it’s Twitter Bio. This account currently have 56.3K followers. And, majority of the tweets are political in nature and in support of Imran Khan.

8. Ziddi Khan PTI (ID: 1477172326856900610) Followers – 18,500

The old username is @bySehrish and the new username is @iPathaNBoY. This account currently has only 762 followers and describe it as a student in it’s bio. The majority of the post are in support of PTI and Imran Khan.

New Username: @iPathaNBoY

9. Athar Hussain Wighio (ID: 1464106002165518336) Followers – 4,882

The old username was @Labo120 and the current username of this account is @MrAtharHussain . This account describe itself as Deputy Information Secretary at People’s Youth Organization PS-88 Malir. Having 4.8K followers this account is not very active on the social media.

New Username: @MrAtharHussain

10. Jarar Ahmad PTI (ID: 1522954177172971526) Followers – 796

Old Username was  @Puja_Sherma1 and the next username  was @Fatima_8787 and this account again changed its username to @Jarar447. Having 1,101 followers this account  claims itself as #Member_Of_Pakistan_Tahreek_E_Insf.

The followers of the accounts contain more fake accounts which all spread adult content to gain more audience. Many of these fake accounts were created in the period of April – June 2022.

Below is the wordcloud that shows what were the words used by fake accounts from Pakistan. Majorly used words are as follows: “Hug me”, “Facebook or Whastapp”, “anyone online”, etc.

Conclusion

DFRAC believes in Twitter being a free and a fair platform. DFRAC has and always continue to expose handles including fake profiles spreading misinformation, disinformation, hate news and false narratives.

All these accounts have changed their name from a female name to a male name. Majority of their tweets are political in nature. Having larger number of followers these accounts are run on a set agenda. These accounts gain ample number of followers using different tactics and impersonating a female user. In those female accounts majorly, the content is sensual and pinup. Some of the accounts are sold to the third party. While, some keep frequently changing their usernames and likewise nature of the posts.
