A letter from Home Minister Amit Shah is going viral on social media. It is being claimed that this letter has been written by Home Minister Amit Shah to Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on 13 June 2022.

It has been mentioned in this letter that a relative of Nupur Sharma living in Dehradun and another person associated with the ideology of RSS should be provided Z category security. It has also been written in this letter that Nupur Sharma and Ajay Gupta are icons spreading the ideology of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Fact Check:

To know the truth of this letter going viral, we went to the website of the Ministry of Home Affairs. There we did not find any proof of issuing any letter from the Home Ministry. After that, we searched for the letter.

At the same time, we searched Google to gather more information in this context. We found a report published on the website of ‘Hindustan’ newspaper. According to this report, Home Minister Amit Shah’s fake letter is going viral on social media. It has also been written in this report that STF has started the investigation after registering a case on this matter.

Our fact check is proving that the letter going viral on social media is fake. No letter has been issued by the Home Ministry or Amit Shah to Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami regarding providing Z security to Nupur Sharma’s relative.
