Meanwhile, a video showing a large crowd on a road is being shared on social media. Users are linking this video to Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Students’ Ki Goonj’ programme. Sharing the video, a user named Deepak Singh Yadav (Ahir) wrote, “What was that, Indore! A city considered a BJP stronghold has just witnessed an incredible wave of love, energy and enthusiasm for Rahul Gandhi. The streets echoed. Students gathered. And Indore raised its voice. You didn’t just create a moment today, Indore — you made history.”
On Instagram, a user named rashidbhat984 shared the same video with the caption, “Indore, what was that! In a city recognised as a stronghold of the BJP, an incredible wave of love, enthusiasm and excitement for Rahul Gandhi was witnessed. The streets echoed, and students also joined in.”

The DFRAC team’s investigation found that this video is not from Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Students’ Ki Goonj’ programme. The video is from World Tribal Day celebrations held in August. We found the same video posted by a Facebook user on August 10, who identified it as being from Tribal Day. An Indore-based journalist, Lakhan Sharma, also told DFRAC that the viral video is not from the ‘Students’ Ki Goonj’ programme but from the World Tribal Day celebrations.
For the investigation, the DFRAC team first converted the viral video into keyframes and conducted a reverse image search using Google Lens. We found the same video posted by a Facebook user named Vinoddj Vlog on August 10. In the comments section, the user clarified that the video was from Tribal Day.
Further investigation led us to several similar videos that were shared as being from World Tribal Day. A YouTube channel had uploaded a video of around 32 minutes, in which the location seen in the viral video can also be seen. The video was uploaded on August 9 with the caption, “Vishav Aadiwasi Diwas 2026 | विश्व आदिवासी दिवस 2026.”
To gather more information about the viral video, the DFRAC team contacted Indore-based journalist Lakhan Sharma, who also covered Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Students’ Ki Goonj’ programme. He refuted the viral claim and confirmed that the video is from World Tribal Day. Lakhan further explained that the ‘Students’ Ki Goonj’ programme was held in front of Regional Park, whereas the viral video shows a procession for the World Tribal Day event at Bhanwarkuan Square.
Conclusion:
The DFRAC fact-check makes it clear that the video being shared on social media is not from Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Students’ Ki Goonj’ programme in Indore. The video shows a procession during the World Tribal Day celebrations. Therefore, the claim made by social media users is misleading.
