Many misleading claims are being made on social media about central government schemes and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. An infographic is being shared on social media. In this infographic, PM Modi is shown wearing a green turban and it has Hindu Samaj Party written on it.

At the same time, the user who posted this infographic on Twitter is Virendra Banarasi, he has described himself as the Delhi state president of the Hindu Samaj Party. Sharing this infographic, he captioned: “ PM Narendra Modi’s plans…

1. Shaadi Shagun: Rs 51,000 for the marriage of Muslim girls only

2. Nai Udaan: Rs 1 lakh to every Muslim for UPSC & PSC exams

3. Learn and Earn: Rs 25,000 per Muslim participant

4. Nai Manzil: 56.5 per Muslim participant  (English Translation)

Fact Check:

To fact-check the viral claim, the DFRAC team obtained different information about all the plans. Our investigation has revealed that all the schemes have been started for minority communities. So first of all, who are in the minority community?

“The Ministry of Minority Affairs was constituted in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on 29th January 2006 to focus on matters relating to notified minority communities, namely, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, Parsis, and Jains. The mandate of the Ministry is to formulate a comprehensive policy for the benefit of minority communities and to review the program on planning, coordination, evaluation, regulatory framework, and development. ”

Shadi Shagun Yojna:

As claimed in the viral post, the Shadi Shagun scheme is given only to Muslim girls. So the DFRAC team first searched on Google about the Shadi Shagun scheme. We got a report from ‘Amar Ujala’. According to this report, the Pradhan Mantri Vivah Shagun Yojana was started on August 8, 2017. This scheme has been started with the aim of promoting higher education among the girls of the minority society of the country.  Under this scheme, the central government gives an amount of Rs 51,000 to girls of minority communities who complete graduation before marriage.

Nayi Udaan Yojna:

On searching google about the Nayi Udaan scheme, we found a report from ‘Navbharat Times’. Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh was quoted as saying in the report that the Nayi Udaan scheme will help civil service aspirants from minority communities. It has also been reported in this report that – “ The Modi government’s scheme, launched through the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs, will provide financial assistance to candidates who have cleared the civil services preliminary examination, an official statement said. ”

Learn and earn scheme:

In searching about this scheme, we found detailed information on the Ministry of Minority Affairs. It has been told that this scheme is an initiative for the skill development of minority communities.

Nayi Manjil Yojna:

On searching on Google about this scheme, we found a report from “Dainik Jagran”. “The New Manzil Scheme was launched by the Ministry of Minority Affairs in 2015. The main objective of this scheme is to provide employable skills to minority youth. As of December 2021, 6,57,802 minorities have received skill development training under the scheme. ”

Conclusion:

It is clear from DFRAC fact check that the viral claim on social media is false. The schemes, which have been mentioned only for Muslims, are actually for all minority communities, which include people from Christian, Buddhist, Sikh, Parsi, and Jain communities besides Muslims.
