The results of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections have come. The Aam Aadmi Party has emerged as the largest party in this election. Arvind Kejriwal’s party AAP has won 134 seats, while BJP has got 104 seats, while Congress has won 9 seats.
After this election, a post is being shared on social media, in which it is claimed that 8 lakh Rohingya-Bangladeshi infiltrators have voted and given Kejriwal victory. A verified user named Major Surendra Poonia captioned: “Around 8 lakh Bangladeshis and Rohingyas live in Delhi. Kejriwal has settled all of them illegally in Delhi. All of them have voted for Kejriwal, the mentor of terrorist Tahir Hussain, who paid salaries to clerics and masterminded of Delhi riots. #MCDResults” ( English Translation)

Meanwhile, another verified user has also made a similar claim. “About 8 lakh Bangladeshi-Rohingyas live in Delhi. Had NRC been implemented, the election result of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi would have been different.
The PIL demanding removal of infiltrators is pending in the Supreme Court since 2017 and the Court has also issued notices to the Central and State Governments but the Governments are silent.” (English Translation)

Fact Check-
To analyze the reality of this claim, we did a simple search on Google. We found a report from the “Navbharat Times“. According to this report- “In the year 2017, the central government had said that about 40 thousand illegal Rohingya infiltrators are living in the country. These infiltrators live in different states or cities of the country. Rohingyas live in Jammu and Kashmir, Hyderabad, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR, and Rajasthan. On the other hand, according to the United Nations Organization UNHRC, there are about 18 thousand Rohingya Muslims living in different areas of the country in India till December 2021. According to an estimate, most Rohingya Muslims live in the surrounding area of Jammu and Kashmir. According to reports, about 5 thousand Rohingyas live here. However, many parties claim to have 10,000 Rohingya Muslims here. ”

At the same time, we also found a report from “Aaj Tak“. According to the report of the Union Home Ministry, 40 thousand of Rohingyas are living illegally in India. Most Rohingya Muslims currently live in Jammu and Kashmir, Hyderabad, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR, and Rajasthan. ”
On searching about Bangladeshi infiltrators, we found a BBC report. “In the last three years, the number of Bangladeshis living illegally in India is about 1,10,000. These are Bangladeshis who came to India with a visa, but were living illegally in India even after the date of the visa expired.”

The BBC report further states that – “Nityanand Rai also told that the number of immigrants entering India illegally from Bangladesh is also increasing continuously. Most of these cases have occurred in West Bengal. In 2017, 1,175 people were caught along the Indo-Bangladesh border. In 2018, 1118 people were caught and in 2019, 1351 people were caught.
Conclusion:
After the DFRAC team examined the news published in all the media houses, it is becoming clear that no media house has published about 8 lakh Rohingya-Bangladeshi voters in Delhi. At the same time, government figures are also giving a different picture. Therefore, the claim of social media users is misleading.
