A screenshot of Dattatreya Hosabale, General Secretary of RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) is taking rounds on the internet that states, “In order to divert attention from the issues raised by itself, inflation, unemployment, poverty, starvation, the central government is causing trouble by unnecessarily linking Savarkar’s apology with the name of Mahatma Gandhi. Inflation, unemployment, poverty and inequality in the name of caste and religion are the biggest challenges in the country today.”
People are sharing the image claiming that Hosable is critising his own government.

Fact Check:
We simply searched on google using specific keywords and found a report of The Print, Hindustan Times etc.
In all the media reports there was a mention of Hosable talking on the issues of Poverty and unemployment, but found no statement of him where he talked or even mentioned that the central government is causing trouble by unnecessarily linking Savarkar’s apology with the name of Mahatma Gandhi.
Conclusion:
Although, Hosabale did address the issue of unemployment and poverty, but did not accused central government on linking Savarkar’s apology with the name of Mahatma Gandhi to change the issues. Hence, the claim is misleading.
